AMEG's Successful Completion of the State of Louisiana's COVID-19 Alternate Care Site
As an affiliate of Dynamic Group, AMEG is proud to have been part of the successful design-build project for the State of Louisiana's Alternate Care Site (ACS) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project involved the construction of a fully functional medical care site within the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, a heavily impacted area.
Our scope of work included the design and construction of 2,000 individual non-acute COVID-positive rooms, strategically maximizing patient density. These rooms served as vital supplemental support for hospitals throughout the state, addressing the urgent need for additional medical facilities.
With swift mobilization of personnel and materials upon receiving the project award, our dedicated team at AMEG worked tirelessly to ensure timely completion. We successfully delivered the first 1,000 patient rooms and 65 nurse stations within an impressive nine-day period. Just 10 days after receiving the Notice to Proceed, Louisiana's Department of Health admitted COVID-19 positive patients to the ACS, providing much-needed relief to local hospitals.
Continuing our commitment to excellence, we accomplished the second phase of the project as scheduled, resulting in a total of 2,000 patient rooms, 132 nurse stations, and 100 portable restroom and shower facilities. Officials from the State of Louisiana expressed their satisfaction with our performance, emphasizing the high quality of our deliverables and the exceptional speed of completion.
